Is it normal that my hobbies don't interest me when i finally have free time?

My hobbies are gaming, watching anime and watching series like futurama and house.

I'm a pretty big fan of these things, but now that I finally have some actual free time, I just don't feel like doing anything...

Usually, when I'm gaming or doing any of the other things, I 'should' be studying. This stays the same almost the entire year, only 2 moments where this isn't true, right after exams.
Having finished my exams not too long ago, I was thrilled to finally be able to catch up on series and anime or play a game in the (huge) stack of unplayed games I've amassed over the years. But now, after a couple days of actually having some fun with all that, I don't feel like doing anything at all.

Just to point out why this actually bothers me, I'm used to being so immersed into a game I play it literally all day. Or watching almost a whole season non-stop. Now I turn off these things after an hour, which is incredibly odd for me.

is it normal that I look forward to these things for half a year, and when I finally get time I'm bummed out over not enjoying them?

You have grown out of them, maybe..? And, you're not alone. I have lost interest in all that used to keep me busy :/ I'm sure it's just a temporary funk, depression maybe.

  • Yeah me too.. Like I'm craving to just want to play this new game but don't have time.. Then I have the time to play it and I just don't want to.. Weird stuff.

get a more creative hobby, like model making or something, there is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when you hold a finished scale model that you made in your hand.

get a hobby that allows you to be constructive/creative. you will feel more accomplished if you can hold and touch a finnished product rather than looking at something on a screen. maybe thats your problem.
