Is it normal that my iphone is seems to weigh less when it's turned off?

I have noticed multiple times, that when I turn my iPhone off, it seems to become lighter in weight. This past time, it turned off when I wasn't looking (low battery) and I knew it had turned off before looking at it. When I turn the thing off, it gradually loses weight, then it feels almost hollow.

Did apple build iPhones with black holes or something?? I don't think electricity has weight, does it? Could it be the accelerometer that stops rotating and that's what makes it seem lighter? What up? Explain it all, Clarissa.

Same here! When it's off or when all of the battery has drained, it's light as snow. But when it's on, it's rather heavy. It feels this way regardless if the case is on or off. I've been wondering about this for awhile and thought it was just me... Also, who's this "Clarissa"?

It's only Apple that builds phones like that.
It's because of their slogan: "Think Different"

All the other manufactures fit their phones with an anti-gravity unit that uses a bit of battery power to make the phone lighter while it's powered on.

Just to be different, Apple do the opposite.

This can be easily solved. I'll weigh my phone whilst it's on and then weigh it again once it's turned off.

    Its not that strange:
    Its gradually becoming lighter, right?
It might have something to do with the fact that its warmer when you turn it on, then, when its off, it will cool down, and MIGHT appear to feel lighter.
I'm not sure if this is what happens to you, maybe its something else, but this is all I can think off.

Your brain is playing tricks on you. The iPhone weighs the same whether it's on or off.

Unless its because its actually disconnected from itunes this could account for the weight loss

"Did apple build iPhones with black holes or something??" I'd love to know what you are trying to imply here, and no electricity doesn't have mass.

If they did managed such a thing it would be a scientific breakthrough while also posing many dangerous.

Try submerging it in water. Is it heavier now?

      This.

Or throw it off a building. See if it floats down like paper.

Make sure you turn it off first, you don't want to damage your phone.
