Is it normal that my kneecap hurts after sitting at my desk?

Recently I've been getting pain around my kneecap on the right leg. I never used to have any problems with this so I don't know what's going on? I work most of the day at a desk and the pain gets worse the longer I stay seated. I started taking stretching breaks to warm up the muscles and that tends to help with the pain temporary, but ultimately nothing is helping and it's really annoying me now. It's just the one kneecap, I don't feel any other pain from anywhere else.

Look on youtube. There are a variety of knee exercise programs that address your sore knee issues and other issues.

I'm currently traveling and don't have access to my home computer so I cannot send you to the youtube videos I think are best.

I had that before. It's from sitting wrong, or your knee is butting up against something all day and you don't notice. Get a box or something under your desk so you can put up your leg.

You prolly have muscle imbalance. If your glutes are strong it goes away. The upper leg muscles get weak and it fucks your knees. Ive had issues before and physical therapy taught me how to fix it

Strengthen your glutes and it should go away. Your muscles around your hips are weak from sitting and it puts more strain on your knee. Ive fixed my knees and my wifes knees with this thing

  • OTC painkillers such as ibuprofen and paracetamol might help.
