Is it normal that my male dog has this weird odour that smells like period?

Maybe it's not a male dog.

I think you need to take him to the vet.

You should only consult a vet when the dog starts smelling like semicolon.

when i would talk my pups to get their nails clipped they would tell me they did something to the anal gland. I guess this is why. I'd say try asking a place if they do anal glands with nail clips because it's only like $13 or something.

Here is a possibility...

Dogs have anal sacs, very similar to what skunks have. Usually the K9 anal sac empties when the dog has a bowl movement. Sometimes the anal sacs become impacted. The smell intensifies and leaks. This can smell up the house! Some dogs will empty an anal sac if surprised in a scary way.

It is NOT normal for a dog to give off an odor as you described. The dog needs to see a vet.

Sounds like some kind of infection. Take him to he veterinarian.
