Is it normal that my rp buddy keeps acting bipolar?

I have an online friend who I've been role playing with for a month now. At first he showed mild signs like suddenly needing comfort or being really, really angry all of a sudden. Once we were having a calming dinner in rp and he pushed me out of my chair before splashing lemonade in my face and throwing me outside before burning our cabin down. Now in some of our rps he'll be cooperating and we'll be fighting monsters in the woods, and out of nowhere he'll say something like "*stabs her in the chest before killing himself*". I of course was mildly creeped out but when I brought it up after the rp he just said he was "adding action". He's been getting worse and I'm about to recommend he seek help.

Doesn't sound like bi-polar to me. Typically some one with bipolar disorder experiences one or two cycles a year. In some cases it can be much faster but there are alot of ppl with autism or Aspergers syndrome that act like you described.

The comment about autism is very helpful. The trouble is that it is very difficult to distinguish autism's characteristics from some of those of bipolar. There are bipolar people who cycle much more rapidly than you suggest and unnoticed by others build up to a screaming rage. The characteristic of saying his thoughts under his breath (maybe as a way of discharging them is also known with bipolar people. The difference between bipolar and autism is that people with autism can be helped with various therapies whereas with bipolar it takes usually lifelong medication--but the person is pretty near normal if they abide by their treatment regime. From your description something is wrong but which of the two conditions mentioned above best fits the symptoms I do not know. He would best get a psychiatric review and then life could improve hugely for him and you.
