Is it normal that people don't understand what a 'complete stop' means?

Some tailgating moron is always running into me, expecting me to roll through intersections with stop signs. Should I start feigning neck injuries?

    Absolutely. I hate tailgaters.
One bitch was tailgating me one day, quite on purpose and rudely. I slowed to let her pass (waving the go around signal with my arm), but no go.
So, on a deserted stretch of road, I stood on the brakes and she slammed into my ass with enough force to destroy her boy friend's hot little tricked out car (his TRUE love it turned out).
I told the cop a dog ran out in front of me.
Her car had to be towed, while I drove to where I was going and was only 20 minutes late. She had to pay for repairs to my car that far exceeded it's value, including a new paint job and she got a ticket to boot. The best part was that her boy friend was so pissed off he left her, leaving her devastated.
Did I happen to mention, I hate tailgaters?

Maybe they'll learn, then. I drive in the city and sometimes I legitimately have to slam on my brakes for a dog, a kid, a sudden traffic incident and so forth and have had people come within inches of hitting me. Or even worse, when I am changing lanes with someone who is changing lanes at the same time and thinks they'll make it into the lane first and speed ahead of me and they damned near rear end me once they get into the lane because, I repeat, we were changing at the same damned time...

      But I love my lil' car ;-;

I have often imagined doing this, great to hear from someone that's actually done it. Nice payoff too.

Just make sure you step on the brakes very hard, so your front end goes DOWN, raising your back end. Then the tailgater slams on their brakes and their front end goes down and slides under your back end, doing little damage to your car, but much to theirs.

Carry a bat with you, and a sticker on your window that says "SLOW THE FUCK DOWN! THE FUCK YOU GOTTA BE SO FAST?"

A bat is of little value against a gun. Pass on the weapons and use your brain.

Sadly it's normal, people just expect others to want to go as fast as them to save a minute. People are always in a rush, and those are the people who cause accidents. If you ever got run into it wouldn't be your fault

If a person crashes into the back of my truck, they better have good insurance! Cause I will report, and possibly sue!

I love when people tailgate me in the fast lane on a freeway when I am doing 75. Like, fucker, I am already doing 10 mph over the speed limit and if you want to go faster, your punk ass can easily go around.

Unless I am seriously in a hurry to get somewhere, when people tailgate me, I slow way the fuck down HAHAHA.

I have never been hit by a tailgater. I as my speed decreases for a stop, I brake less sharply as I approach zero.

That happens a lot in my town as well. Everyone is in a rush to go nowhere.

  • I understand what you mean and it's always important to drive defensively. At the same time people who drive like they have all day to get where they are going tend to tick me off as much as the aggressive drivers.

Try living on a very scenic 125 mile long two lane road with very few passing zones, patrolled by lots of cops. grrrrr.
