Is it normal that people think hemorrhoids are caused by buttsex or being fat

I've heard people say a lot of dumb reasons for hemorrhoids such as sitting down too much but really the cause is most often taking big dumps, which is caused by their bowel problems which can be genetic? If you have hemorrhoids and ask for help online people automatically assume your either fat or gay IIN?

    I've always heard the main causes are childbirth and IBS.

      Yeah.. It's caused by straining the anal muscles basically... I don't get what being gay or fat has to do with taking big dumps.

    Um, hemorrhoids CAN be caused by anal sex or obesity.

      Yeah but that's no reason for people to jumps to that conclusion right away. They are more common from ibs etc. Some people have them since childhood and are underweight , so why say that little kids have gay sex and are fat when they could just as easily have bowel disorders from genetics and not from their own choices.
