Is it normal that some guy wants me to give up my youtube account over a join date?

I was on Discord just chatting away when some dude DMs me asking if I have a YouTube account and my reply to him was yes and so I was like "Ok?" he then proceeds to ask how old my account was so I said that it was 10 years old essentially wanting me to give up my account to him permanently.

It gets even scary from there, he also asks me how much I'm selling it but I politely declined, he kept on asking again and again how much but I kept telling him no.

I blocked him and felt quite fearful that someone might try and hack my YouTube account and sell it off since I know what these guys were capable of.

This situation makes me feel scared.

There's not enough incentives to hack your account. He needs your email you sign in with to use a password hacking tool. He'd have to put malware on your computer to get your account if you dont have the info available. Dont download anything he sends you dont click links. There's almost 0 risk he will hack your account.

The appeal of buying an old account is that it's untraceable...
Nowadays you need to link your google account, phone number and all sorts of things to have a youtube account.

Whoever wants to buy it, intends to use it for something shady.

That's how I see it. Anyway, ignore the situation and move on. There is not much said individual can do about it. If it's a serious criminal after data theft, there are better ways to do it.

Yuck! That guy was a greedy piece of 💩!

I remember once I left my house to go someone, and some crazy bitch had left a handwritten note for me that said some bullshit about how she wanted to buy my car. I was thinking, "bitch, don't be stickin' yo damn sticky ass notes on my Buick, bitch"! 🧐

In Europe, companies that buy old cars for recycling leave notes on everything that isn't a new car.

I get putting such notes on rust buckets and shitboxes that look like they belong in a junkyard, but regular cars?

I get so annoyed when I see a note on one of my cars. Bitch, my car looks like it came off the assembly line and you leave me a note that says "We'll pay to recycle your car"... Morons can go recycle their heads.

I've even had one put on my C350e... That's a 3 year old car! I'm not gonna throw away a car with less than 10000km!

That would annoy (and insult) me too, as someone who loves my vehicles! Mine are over 10 years old now and one has over 200k miles, but both still run great, are extremely reliable and low maintenance, and still clean up very nicely and get compliments! Someone suggesting they're fit for the junkyard/recycling is looking for a fight! 🤣

I did used to get letters in the mail from my local dealership wanting to buy one of them for well below the actual value because they supposedly had customers wanting that type of car. No way would I consider letting them have the car for a song, though! 🤣 Considering how outrageous their prices are for basic repairs/maintenance? Absolutely not!

I'd feel the same way! I don't like strangers touching my car without very good reason for it (and have set off my car alarm while a teenager twerked against it in a parking lot once 🤣)!

I've seen videos where stupid kids are posing, and taking pictures with cars that don't belong to them. Just push the alarm/panic buttonon your remote for the car alarm. 😁

Yep, that's what I did! 🤣 I think they were making a Tik Tok or something, as there was another teen in the car parked next to mine with the door open, videoing the one twerking against my car. When I pressed the panic button and my car started flashing its lights and honking, the kid screamed and jumped into the other car! 🤣 Maybe it was a little mean of me, but it was too funny! I worry most about stupid people scratching or dinging my car, as I have a couple of door dings from people not being careful or paying attention, and don't want more! I'm pretty particular about it, even if it is an older model.

Naw, I don'tthink it's mean at all, because it's funny as hell! 🤣

That seems very strange. I would've blocked him, too. If you're worried, change your password to something very hard to guess. I'm not sure if YouTube does any sort of two-factor authentication, but that might be worth enabling if so. I believe if someone tries to sign into your account from a different device than the one you normally use, most sites will send you an e-mail asking if it was you and not allow access until you confirm it (or so I believe). I've had people from other countries try to sign into my Facebook account and Facebook wouldn't let them (though I believe they got the password wrong several times too, which prompted the e-mail to me).

Cut off contact. Don't turn your account over. Don't open any attachments for download anything onto your normal computers and phone.

Note if it;s something you feel you really need to know about - some computer service companies have dumb computers with nothing on them to be used to look at suspicious sites and documents (along with advanced diagnostics on what is being downloaded and programs that prevent anything from auto-executing before they can be completely examined).

Contact Youtube on this... They are going to want to know who this guy is.
