Is it normal that some of my family believes lies my lying sister says about me

My older sister is a pathological liar. Since I stopped putting up with her lies, she turned on me and started spreading horrible lies about me. I mean, the kind of lies that only someone really evil would say. Some of my family believes her. She is very convincing and a well practiced liar. Some of my family won't talk to me now...family I really love. I admit that I used to believe some of her lies, until I got older and realized she is full of shit. But, my family is all adults now and they still believe her, except for a couple of them. when will this all catch up to her?

Is it normal that I wonder what the lies are, because I'm curious?

    • The worst was when I was taking care of my dying father for four years. I loved him dearly and bought him whatever he wanted or needed to be more comfortable from toiletries to clothes to even a bed and fridge and music system. When he was moved into a rest home she made sure she kept his high end comfortable bed and left him with a decades old single bed that hung like a hammock. I bought him a top of the line bed that cost $3700 total but I didn't care. I wanted him to sleep well. She phoned him and told him that I used his Visa to buy it. She told my family that too. I told my brother to check the records after dad died since he was executor to prove I didn't take any of his money.
She told him I used his VISA to buy stuff for myself too.
After he died she said that I went into his house and took all the good stuff which was another lie. She went in with her daughter and cleaned the place out and cancelled the auctioneer instead.
More? She tells people that I was promiscuous. OMG! I'm so the opposite! (Meanwhile she got knocked up at 17, had to get married and then screwed around on her husband with the butcher.)
After I got colon cancer she told people I was a hypochondriac.
Told people I made my father's blood sugar sky rocket because he drank all the Drambuie I bought him. It takes him years to sip down one bottle. Meanwhile, the nurse had to tell her to stop giving him candy in the hospital because he is diabetic.
Twice in the past our father got her out of trouble when she was almost charged for slandering two women when she was taking a course at a small college and when she volunteered at Girl Guides.
She told people I fought with her over our mother's jewellery after dad died. During the meeting with the siblings, I told her I didn't want any of it. No one did but her.
More? She complained to our father that she couldn't visit him much because she didn't trust her old car. He gave her his nice car so that wouldn't be a problem. For the next five years she didn't come back again except for a couple of times when she thought he might die in hospital and then when he did die. She came back again after that to get more of the inheritance. She didn't even come to his 90th birthday party.

She needs to go to hell. Or at least a grave.

Just point out all the plot holes and get proof next time she does something she's accusing you of doing (such as the feeding candy to your dad thing )
I've been in this situation but she did get found out thankfully.

    God, poor you.....

Oh and yes it is normal they want to believe she's still a decent person

Yikes. That's a lot. All the more to catch up with her though. Soon as even one lie comes out, all of your family will know she's a fraud. Jist wait and see.

Just keep telling the truth. Eventually her lies will come back on her and they will learn.

Why don't you start lying too?
