Is it normal that the job agency found my brother work but not me?

Me and my sibling both signed up for the same 6 job agency. However whenever I call they say they dont have any jobs, but they recently just found him work at a big factory. We both put in for the same position and have more or less the same level of experience. I have a bunch of certificates for being a guard, and CPR training and 6 months as a stocker. He has CPR as well. They got him a factory job even though he has 0 job experience. Why could they not find me work? We both graduated HS, and have HS ROP. Mine was in Business and his was in ROP medical. We both signed up for the same places at the same time.

It may just be...that, depending on the exact job position you applied for, they gave him the job because of his lower qualifications. They found a position he, with a smaller pool of jobs, was suitable for so they took it. As a person with a larger pool of options, they may be attemtping to find you better (more advanced/more qualified) work.

Two years and you STILL haven't found a job? You should have died of starvation or frozen to death during the winter by now.
How do you survive? Burning all those worthless certificates might have helped for warmth on a cool night under an overpass.

They don't care about your credentials if you're applying to work in a factory job. Honestly, in a job like that, they're just looking for a body. Your brother just drew the long straw is all.

Well if your brother got a job at a big factory, he can help to get you on there too. He gan make a good reference to hiring managers etc. Chances are that someone from one of your last jobs has burned you with the agency and they don't want to pass on someone who might be a problem for one of their clients. That would be bad business for them. You need to get a job and while you are at that job, find a better one somewhere else.

    • No, no one from my pass business would burn me. They agreed to make a good reference and said I was a great worker even though I was only there for a few months since it was seasonal work. Also the job agency is suppose to help me find a job, that is kind of the point. My two other references are teachers who adored having me in class and told my parents great things about me. I dont understand why those people would purposely burn a student they adored.

Well then, ask all of those people for letters of reference. Then you can be sure and you have something to offer a prospective employer.
