Is it normal that the more security a place has the more insecure i feel?

When I'm in a place with alot of security gaurds and camera surveillance and even some places that have armed gaurds, I am less comfortable than when I'm in a place without. Its because obviously they have put them there for a reason. This only seems to be increasing in the post 9/11 world. IIN?

    Yes, the more security theater we have in place, the more dysfunctional our society becomes.

    Security theater has nothing to do with security, or with keeping us safe. It has everything to do with our power elite tightening up their Orwellian control over the rest of us and reminding us who's in charge. Remember, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
