Is it normal that they followed him or weird?

My boyfriend was shopping at a Walmart in Suffolk County. A group of three people notices he walks with a cane and they went up to him. They introduced themselves, asked about his bad knee and started going on about how God will heal his arthritic knee. My boyfriend felt creeped out, politely, excused himself, and started walking away. As he walked away they shouted at him to repent and that it's not too late. He felt pretty embarrassed.

The next store he went to was Target. The Target store was in Nassau County. FAR FAR away from the Walmart in Suffolk. After my boyfriend finishes shopping at Target, he goes in his car and the people who were at the Walmart were approaching his car, shouting at him. He saw this and drove away as quickly as possible.

Is this normal? There was no way that they just so happened to need to go the exact Target my boyfriend went to. I was on the phone with him when both encounters happened. We're both weirded out by it and paranoid.

    • Hopefully they're not bothering other people. They were just creepy.

I don't often say this but I would honestly call the police, even knowing they wouldn't do much, just to get it logged. That way he can go back to them and make further reports if those people keep stalking him, and hopefully it will be taken more seriously.

    • I think it's over now. No suspicious cars and people were hanging around the block. We seem to be in the clear. If anyone shows up I'm calling the cops.

Religious people are mentally ill. This is just the more extreme side of it. They believe your boyfriend was harmed by a vengeful man who lives in the sky and that if he'll simply submit to his will, the sky man will heal him with his magic. They may or may not have become violent about this.

    • We went through a few possibilities as to why they were at that Target. We came to the conclusion that it was no coincidence. This all happened yesterday. My boyfriend made sure that no one was following him home. No one came to his house today and no suspicious vehicles were hanging around. I'm glad they don't know where he lives. That shit was creepy as hell. I was worried they would get violent with him.

The moral minority always believe that they have the right to interfere in other people's lives. Regardless of what religion they belong too...

The more mature religious people (from all religions) will offer people a blessing, or a prayer for them to get better or for resolution of the situation - without asking anyone to repent or convert.

It's been my experience that sometimes such blessings and prayers work. Faith and belief do affect things... even if just a tiny bit; when a person is open to accepting such faith and belief. Knowing that another person want you to have a better life (without judging you) is often the start of something positive.

    • We're not religious. Though if they didn't shout at my boyfriend at the Walmart and follow my boyfriend, their message would've been just fine with us.

No it's not normal, here's what to do, slam those holy men with the car door and your boyfriend in the car and drive off!

    • I wasn't with my boyfriend at the Walmart and Target. I was on the phone with him when the incidents happened. If I was there, I would've told them to back off. And It wouldn't be the first time I had to tell someone that.

Christians and Muslims are both so stalky worldwide. Jews let you mind your own business.

    • I really don't have a problem with other people's religions. I have an issue with these people in particulars creepy stalkerish behavior.

  • I mean maybe they're just a bunch of young guys out for a good time looking for an easy laugh with each other? Just positing something besides like targeted harassment

Maybe get him one of those cane swords or something to be on the safe side. When I was young every cane I saw had a sword in it I thought lol

      • Maybe one where he can pull the handle and use it to spray pepper spray 🌶️ 👀😫

But fuck those guys anyway, it's one thing to be done to an equal but a real shitty move on someone visibly at a disadvantage

        • People like that are the reason I stay on the phone with him when he goes out for a few hours while I'm at work. Though keeping him on the phone does nothing since I'm not there with him. Ima look into getting him some pepper spray. XD

If they pop up again take pictures of the people, and pictures of their license plates.

didnt he notice a car following him, or how did they find him again? Maybe it was a prank? why did he drive to another county to go to target?

    • He apparently didn't notice these people following him to Target. I don't get how he didn't notice. Sunrise Highway is practically a straight shoot and there was a lot of traffic. He went to the Walmart because the website said that Walmart location had an item he wanted to buy. The website lied. They didn't have it. So he went to Targets website. The only Target that had it just so happened to be far out. I don't know what the item is because it's apparently my Valentine's Day present and he doesn't want me to know what it is.
