Is it normal that this bothers me, as an adult?

I write code for Minecraft as part of my job and today I found out you can hurt ocelots. I accidentally hit an ocelot and I almost started crying (it makes cat-sounds when hit). I followed it around in the game for a few minutes just to make sure it was ok. I realise this sounds crazy but I'm actually not joking. Is this normal?

I am a 32 year old man and I still cannot bring myself to hurting anyone, whether in real life or in a game. While playing Witcher I tried to harvest honey by using Agni on a beehive. But villagers nearby got scared and ran away. I felt so bad I had to reload the game.

Sometimes specific or unusual things strike a really strong chord of empathy. Maybe there's a word for it, I don't know?

So I'm guessing it could be something to do with the sound it makes, what it looks like, or just...something about it that really gives you the feely feels.
It happens to me with specific things in fictional stories or TV, that just really, really hit you emotionally for some reason (and I'm not an overly emotional person).
I dunno...maybe some of that fits in with your post.
