Is it normal that when a radio is off station a bit i shudder?

Whenever I hear a radio that is not quite right on it's station, the static and and other noises from it drives me nuts! If they just put it on the station fully and correctly, it sounds so much clearer and pleasant. The constant background sounds of static and other noises get on my nerves. What gets on my nerves more is, they don't go over and fine tune it just a bit.

Be glad that the radio station is still broadcasting at all.

One station that I listen to frequently has 'dead air' more and more often, as time goes by. The announcers are also making more frequent speech errors, as well.

It is apparent that many people are losing their ability to communicate effectively, due to the unusual series of astronomical events, that are currently occurring.
This will undoubtedly lead towards a catastrophic collapse of civilization soon.

the bit between stations on AM radio scares the shit out of me because of the film 'night of the living dead'

I'm with you OP, I really hate that and I'd rather have silence.

I also HATE using public transport with people wearing headphones turned up so loud I can hear the "swish swish" noise: If it's that loud they're almost certainly damaging their hearing.

I wish I could live long enough to see all the people who are young now, wearing hearing aids in their old age because they'll all be really deaf

But sometimes you can't fine tune the radio. Or you move and it gets all fuzzy.

    • Thank you for your reply.
There are times such as that, but I am referring to times when the station can be fine tuned and isn't.

        But how do you know?

        • It sounds staticky and like it comes and goes. When someone talks, some of the words come out with a sort of hissing sound at times.
If you put on one of your stations, then move the tuner just slightly either way, you will hear it.

But this can happen even if you are spot on with a digital tuner.
