Is it normal that when i use the restroom i tear off a piece or more off?

Whenever I use the restroom especially public ones, before I use toilet paper I tear off a big piece first because It looks creased or used or it touched the floor or soaked so that part must be all nasty and gross so i tear off a good piece !

    Me too. Once about five pieces looked all scrunched up so I ripped lot of them off!
