Is it normal that women with large or many tattoos gross me out?

I am a man with a fair amount of ink in my skin. So I realize this may come off as sexist, and maybe it is so. So if the feminists are chomping a the bit for some bait, here it is.

Women do not look attractive with Big/aggressive tattoos! Maybe, a few small girly ones, ok, that's fine, nothing wrong with that.

With that being said, it drives me absolutely nuts when I see a pretty woman with an arm/shoulder/leg sleeve, or worse, a chest, boob tattoo, or even tramp stamp.

On top of that, some women get the most aggressive manly tattoos, I think how stupid can you be? You're a woman, you're supposed to be sweet and innocent, sugar spice and everything nice. That's what most men crave.

So for the Bull Dykes, get whatever tattoos you want. For the straight women, STOP the madness.

Are there any men here willing to man up and admit that big tattoos look gross on women? Are there any women here willing to admit it?!

Picture for reference. http://goodmornink.com/uploads/picture-of-the-day/2012/09/sleeve_tattoo_design_girl-660.jpg

It's almost like she carved her whole body up and left scars. There's no difference between doing that and this "art." That ink is Fugly girl, and she has a beautiful face. Why do this to yourself?

    Meh, I think you're a pussy.

I think, in your mind, your tattoos are a symbol of your toughness & masculinity & seeing a beautiful girl with tattoos challenges that.

I will admit not EVERY girl can pull off sleeves & neck/throat tattoos whilSt still looking feminine & attractive but many can.

    Deal with it...

    • Yeah, you're not even close. The only tattoo I have that could be considered aggressive is a portrait of MY own dog which is a pitbull. Though he isn't nor is the portrait of him being aggressive.

A palm tree with the text Florida in the background.

And a Boeing 747 Jet which is a tribute to my grandpa who was more of a dad to me than my own biological one. He was an air traffic controller and loved his job. All 3 are meaningful to me. That's why I have them. Not to LOOK tough like some bonehead.

Way to be WAY off base.

A beautiful woman is a beautiful woman with flawless skin, my issue is why mess with what is already perfection...? It's a compliment to women and the female form in general in my eyes.

It's cute how you're all jumping on me like some white knights, but yeah I didn't say a woman shouldn't have ink or be able to express herself through tattoos.

I simply stated they don't need to be large, over the top, and excessive.

I don't consider myself a "natural beauty." I consider myself tough as nails, I've been through a lot but that's not what my tattoos are about.

It is you who looks like a bitch for your assumptions and personal attacks; keyboard warrior over here.

Never mentioned your tattoos being aggressive in appearance.
They sound meaningful to you which is great.
From the way you worded your post I would have expected a lot more than 3 tattoos bit that's neither here nor there.

OK, first of all a woman needn't have flawless skin - or be flawless in any way - to be beautiful, in my opinion at least.

I agree it's a compliment to say that no improvement is necessary but that's not what you're really saying is it...

        Don't back off now.
You didn't state "they don't need to be large", you stated that they gross you out & drive you nuts.
Don't get butthurt when not everyone agrees

        • The problem here is, I think everyone here is agreeing on principle. The question was whether or not people think large and/or aggressive tattoos that cover large parts of their body are "sexy" or "attractive" on a female, not whether you like "the way I think, or the way I posed the question, I guess."

People are judging me, not the source material. Because I guess my post came off as abrasive instead of the subject. Which I do regret sounding like an ass. I have bipolar disorder and was probably in a mood.

And for the record, yes I only have 3 although they are all large pieces. I do want more, in fact, I find it weird myself the I became addicted to getting inked up when I don't find it attractive on women. It's almost unfortunate for me.

          Good day.

            Nope, I'm not.
I think that large, highly visible tattoos on girls can be very attractive.
Has to be the right tattoo on the right girl but that's pretty obvious.

I'm answering your question with my honest opinion AND judging you simultaneously ;)
My problem isn't that you don't find it attractive or even that you're hypocritical, my problem is that you are telling people what they like.
When I tell you I do find it sexy you tell me that I'm answering based on my opinion of you. I'm not...

That's fine, they sound like nice pieces.

By the way, in Straya, we say G'day at the start of the conversation ;)

"You're a woman, you're supposed to be sweet and innocent, sugar spice and everything nice. "

    Really?
Why? So that they can be "craved" by men who view them the same way you do? How is that supposed to be enticing for them?

    • Wow that was the perfect first feminazi response! Just what the doctor ordered.+!

Yes, women should get tatted up all over in order to not attract men! That is some great logic. Because what straight woman wants to attract men anymore. That's lunacy!

Judging by your emotional response, this is clearly a sensitive subject for you. I only asked a few questions about your statement that women should aspire to be "sweet and innocent" and all that.

        I mentioned nothing about tattoos.

P.S. Your comment to men asking them to "man up" and agree with your preference in women is sexist, towards men.

So are you happy now you've shown your true colours with the term feminazi for someone who doesn't agree with you?

That has got to be one of the stupidest terms ever invented and only used by idiots who have to be deliberately misunderstanding feminism to equate it with germany's national socialism

First off, nobody is completely sweet and nice. It's more of a turnoff for me when girls claim to be all innocent. That leads me to believe she might be stuck on herself. Everyone has flaws. I have yet to meet a perfect person.

I'm a dude and tattoos don't turn me off except when they cover their entire body with tattoos. Then it's too extreme. The girl in the picture still looks good. Artwork used in the right way can actually add to a woman's appearance in my opinion.

That's like telling all women to go get big boobs, if they have small boobs they're gross and manly and only big boobs will attract guys. There is little difference in this statement and yours.

That bitch in the picture is hawt.

    1) Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean they're a Femi-nazi. Let's use some common sense, shall we?

    2) "Women do not look attractive with Big/aggressive tattoos! Maybe, a few small girly ones, ok, that's fine, nothing wrong with that."

The above quote? Your preference/opinion. It does not mean that all women should blindly follow it. We have minds of our own and if some of us choose to get those tattoos, it's because we WANT to. Why shouldn't we do something we want? You should be given the same courtesy.

    3) "You're a woman, you're supposed to be sweet and innocent, sugar spice and everything nice. That's what most men crave."

Again, your opinion on what "most" men crave. The sensible route would be to say that "some do, some don't" if you're trying to pass this off as fact

Also a woman shouldn't follow archaic gender stereotypes IF SHE DOES NOT WANT TO. The only thing we're "supposed" to be is whatever we want, regardless if that aligns with what you prefer.

    4) "Why do this to yourself?"

That's simple. Because she WANTS to.

    Edit:

    5) There are also many men who love a woman with tattoos. So your point to the other poster is moot. What's hilarious is that you're sarcastically pointing out the flaws in their "logic" when you're using inane generalizations to "prove" yours.

    The irony.

    Major turn off in girls.
Besides, the connotations that tattoos carry are most commonly negative.

I'm going to chock this one up to ignorance on your part.

When I work my job as a mechanic, I look as far from feminine as I possibly can without having a beard and a cock. My clothes are usually loose, dirty and unflattering, my hair a mess, my pockets (and often hands) filled with dirty ass tools and my skin is typically black as shit (I work on old cars). Even worse in my military uniform where you likely couldn't tell me apart from a man if not for my hair being pulled back (unlike the men with short haircuts). I have had zero issue attracting men (good looking men with good careers and good everyfukingthing else) despite my greased out appearance.

Yeah, I have an easier time attracting more types of men when I'm dressed feminine and "pretty", but my point is this: Not all men like that you like. So yes, it's sexist. It's sexist to assume that women need to fit a particular mold in order to attract men and it's sexist to assume that men can only truly be attracted to the feminine type.

    • Yes they do. Not all, but most. I've had this discussion many times over the years outside of this place of course, both in person and online. I've heard many men AND women tell me women look worse with too many tattoos.

You're going to chock what up to ignorance? A preference? A turn-off? I bet you have some too, you must be ignorant or something jeez!

I get it, you're the ultimate feminist. A female mechanic, you know that's pretty rare right? Just as it is pretty rare to find a male that digs a chick who covers her body in tattoos.

I don't think a single person here could say with a straight face that that girl in the pic wouldn't look better without all that ink. Even you Gear head.

You said so yourself, not all men are totally partial to feminine women. I'm not saying you're wrong for being turned off by it - we can't help who we are attracted to. The ignorance I was referring to was your stating that women need be perceived as feminine to attract men.

As for your second point, I'm not going to debate your perception of my political philosophies. I do hope that you are not associating my profession and hobby with this perceived political stance, either.

It may be difficult for you to believe but I do find her and her tattoos to be attractive. I find them colorful and eye-catching. To be perfectly honest, I do not care a whole hell of a lot for men with sleeve tattoos unless they're a little more prolific than your stupid, typical barbed wire and bullets bullshit. Neck tats look shitty on everybody.

What exactly is this portly I've heard you speak of so much? I think if I was a guy I would favor an hourglass figure in a woman. If I were a straight male I would probably favor a slightly thinner or somewhat overweight chick with the right curves to an girl lacking the curves, but at her ideal weight. It's all about the right waist to hip ratio.
