Is it normal the dentist cant see me for a month?

I need my wisdom teeth out but they won't even set a date to check them for over a month. They are already coming in awkwardly and I think if I wait another month they are going to just keep getting worse. My original dentist refuses to do anything for them since they said I need to go to dental surgeon. Also I have DENTAL insurance.

Assuming you're American. Insurance covers some of the cost, it doesn't give you priority booking.

Of course it's normal. They have other patients, not just you, who also had to book in advance.

You'll live. Seriously. I was told to have my wisdom teeth out almost ten years ago and I didn't. Went back to the dentist this year and they're like, "What? No, we don't need to take those out".

After my check up this year, which I made because of extreme pain in a tooth I thought must need to be removed, they couldn't book me in for another five weeks. It hurt like fuck, but that was how it was.

You can wait a month, you're not gonna die.

    • So, most people have to wait this long?

Yes. I really doubt one little month is going to see your teeth grow so rapidly that they cause damage. Just be sure to brush them thoroughly and use some teething gel if the growing pains are strong. Mine took years to fully erupt. Now I have four.

Your original dentist sounds very neglectful and should be stripped off his certificate. Find a good dentist who is committed to his/her profession. Goodluck!

Normal. Dentists can be very busy.

If you don't wanna wait go somewhere else.... It is not that complicated.

Is there only one dentist and oral surgeon in your country? See someone else. And besides, unless the wisdom teeth are hurting you, there isn't any rush to do anything about them. So take your time and get someone who will do the procedure properly.

What do you mean by "coming in awkwardly"? If you're in absolute agony surely there are public emergency dental facilities where you live? Well I guess maybe not if you're in the usa.

If you're not in pain, what's the panic about? Wisdom teeth aren't poisonous or dangerous to your health, just a nuisance if you already have enough teeth and they're going to push other teeth out of alignment.
