Is it normal the eye drops end up in my mouth?

My doctor prescribed honey eye drops to help with my glaucoma, and whenever I apply them I end up tasting the honey.

    I use Visine every day after my shower, as I get nasty red eye. Most days are ok, but when I miss or put too much..Yeah, I taste it..Awful.
