Is it normal they don't take me seriously?
I used to be a hobby runner. Over time, I've worked for a total of more than two hours per workout. This has not been possible for two years.
I suddenly had shin pain. There has never been an accident and I have always had my shoes in a bit before I used them for training. At the beginning (2 months), I still thought that maybe it's a sore muscle or some other injury, which gradually goes away by itself. After another two months of recurrent pain, I went to my family doctor to be referred to a specialist. She told me that she had some ideas, which caused my pain, and that she would forward me to a good orthopedic community doctor's office.
I then went, together with an escort as support, to this doctor's office. I did that several times. I described my pain, when it occurred and how it hurt. Then they fumbled my shins and told me each time that there was nothing, even though I had infernal pain as they applied pressure in the middle of my shins and down. They also did not want to x-ray or arrange a CT. Nothing. I have been sent to the practice over and over again and have heard of almost all of these "experts" (the actual top doctor of this doctor's office, I never got to see) the stupid theories, all of which could be refuted by other doctors. My pain does not stop until now. Whether I run, climb stairs, kneel on the shins or walk normally. Meanwhile, after two years of disappointment and pain, I think that my problem has developed a chronic character.
Is it normal that nobody of the doctors took me seriously? I've had other illnesses and accidents, but never have I been left in this way. What's up with these guys...
