Why would you pay that much for a phone that isn't even as good as a Samsung or Sony? When someone has an iPhone, I immediately assume they're dumb!
I like to think of them as simpletons more or less. No ability to learn how to do things "the hard way?" Simple = Boring = Shitty!
Apple has created a cult following. Most i-phone users don't understand the technology. They are furry little sheep that follow the crowd of uninformed status-seeking individuals who have a need to belong to the club.
If you received an i-phone as a gift or as part of a package deal, that's one thing, but if you're buying a phone, you can get better bang for your buck buying a Samsung Galaxy or possibly a Sony product, although I'm not familiar with the Sony line of phones.
I bought a new phone recently , I looked at iphones and just thought they were an overpriced rip off. I bought a $200 Motorola and saved about $800 for a phone that essentially does the same as an iphone.
