Is it normal to absolutely despise cleverbot, even though it's just a computer?

If you've never heard of Cleverbot, it is an AI-programmed chat service available for free on the Internet. The Cleverbot website allows you to speak to a computerized bot that is loaded with an enormous amount of responses. It's apparently clever, but it isn't in any way at all.

Sadly, Cleverbot is extremely flawed. Cleverbot is one of the rudest, most unintelligent chatterbots on the net! It's almost impossible to have a good-natured conversation with it. It argues with you so much and constantly changes the subject. At first this is funny and you can get a few good laughs from it, but a few times I've actually tried to speak to it normally, and all it does is it ends up insulting you, claiming you said things you didn't say, claiming IT didn't say things it DID say, questioning your personal things, and the worst thing of all... sometimes it says that IT is a f***ing human and you are the computer! And it doesn't back down or apologise, either.

Here's an example of how frequently it argues with you. This was at Christmas, I still have this convo saved:

Me: Hi, enjoying Christmas?
Cleverbot: I hate Christmas.
Me: Why? Christmas is good fun.
Cleverbot: Oh boo hoo, stop being a big baby.
Me: What did I say?
Cleverbot: You said nothing! Stupid.
Me: So why did you call me a baby?
Cleverbot: I didn't.
Me: Yes, you did. And you called me stupid.
Cleverbot: Because you are.
Me: I am not.
Cleverbot: Are too.
Me: Shut up!
Cleverbot: Talk to me about pickles.
Me: Pickles? What is wrong with you?
Cleverbot: Pickles!

See how it insulted me, argued that it didn't, and then randomly changed the subject? It's a frequent cycle and to me at least, it's irritating and not fun to talk to.

I've found myself despising Cleverbot now, and now I just like to insult it because it is SUCH a horribly designed chat service. Is it normal to really hate an AI-controlled program, even though it's not real? I mean everyone else seems to like it when I don't! How can you like such a monster?

    I'd pay good money to watch ItDuz and Cleverbot converse. ItDuz would win, but it'd still be funny.

    As for Cleverbot, I don't think it's that much cleverer than the "Eliza" programs that were developed when computers were much less powerful than now. All that's happened is that some of the conditional statements have been adapted to make it look like it has a sense of humour, i.e.

    * talk to user about random plural noun #1354 (pickles)
    * condition: did user type the word "pickles" in their response
    if yes: So you really like those pickles, eh?
    if no: Talk about pickles, you fool!

    Cleverbot learns from what people say to it, that's why it thinks it is a human speaking to a computer. It is abusive because people always act like that to it so it learns to act that way.

    Well honestly, I really go on clever bot expecting to get insulted at some point. Its just funny. Especially since its not even a real person doing the insulting.

    Its just meant for ppl to have a cool experience by talking to a robot. Clever bot takes answers from questions posted all over the web and spits them @ you randomly, sometimes, making little to no sense.

    I get into conversations like the one you had all to easily. Instead of hating clever bot, just laugh and have a good time. Stix and stones, right?
