Is it normal to always consult the magic 8 ball?

I think that astrology and psychic mediums are dumb, but I don't doubt the Magic 8-Ball; rarely has the ball ever been wrong in my case. Whenever I need guidance about what I should do with my life, I consult with it. If anyone else were doing this, I might be forced to doubt its magical powers, but whenever I use it, it almost seems to me as though the magic is real, as though the magic is working through me and finding its final and most complete manifestation within the ball. I've heard people complain that this is just psychology at work, but I'm not so sure, and even if it were psychology, I wouldn't want to know because I have an awesome track record whenever I work in accordance to the Magic 8-Ball's dictates.

Confirmation bias, perhaps? Are you only remembering or acknowledging the times when the 8-ball has been "right"? Do you allow it to be wrong, or do you think you dismiss these incidents of wrongness, or downplay their significance? Perhaps the outcome of an event can be interpreted in such a way as to validate the 8-ball's response. How often do you rely on it for answers? Does your track record encompass a sufficient sampling (over time and frequency) of outcomes to arrive at a reasonable enough conclusion that it's a trustworthy source for guidance?

Personally, I would put about as much stock into what a Magic 8-Ball tells me as I would an Ouija board.

Do you think the little guy who lives in your magic 8 ball really understands you, or is he lazy and just pops up any old answer to get you to stop shaking his fucking home?

Hey, psychology or not, if it works for you, it works for you. We all have our weird little idiosyncrasies. Even science isn't 100% perfect and solid. Hell, I don't totally believe in horoscopes but I check them when I'm really fucking down and confused about life and the future and, in a weird way, they kind of lift my spirits and give me some form of guidance that mere logic and reason doesn't really offer.

Some guidance is better than no guidance if it's not bad guidance.
