I'm 28, only have a college education (UK non university) I have absolutely no interest in perusing a career in what i learned at college. I spend most of my time skateboarding. Is this normal or is it just weird?
Personally I'm in my element and think I'd feel lost without it. I know as I've tried getting a full time job ect.
As a hobby, it's completely normal to skateboard. I'm 25, myself, and while I don't do it much any more, it will always be a part of me, something I deeply identified with throughout my childhood and adolescence. That said, I vote that in your case, it's not normal. You shouldn't just be skateboarding all the time at 28, especially if you're not progressing to a level comparable with pros. Moreover, you say you don't hold a full-time job, which means that you're either living off of the system or off of someone else. Not only is that not normal, but it's downright unacceptable. It's time to grow up, get a full-time job, and keep your deck in the closet until the evenings and weekends.
Its time to grow up, set goals and get motivated to accomplish them. Your 28 no longer a child...some day your going to want to get married and have a family and you won't be able to financially support them because of lack of motivation. Set your priority straight n when things seems difficult n stressful use ur love for skateboarding for relaxation n regrouping. So to answer ur question it's not weird but u need to prioritize prioritize n prioritize the things u want to achieve in life.
Normal we're around the same age. My group and I still BMX, smoke bowls, and tap hoes. We only live once right?.
So you're lazy. Simply accept that you'll never get anywhere. Gaze at the world for another 50 years and then die.
Probably a stress reliever. It's normal - just try to think of what you want to do for a career, though.
Why dont you get a job related to your skill and talent. It will be useful. Dont live your life doing only one thing. Explore your life. Theres more to discover.
