So I'm a grown man and I'm still afraid of roller coasters just like when I was younger. What I always hated was when we were on the family trips to the theme park is I would feel this judgment feeling from people who are not afraid of the roller coasters. Even now my female cousin gives me a side eye when I say that I'm still afraid of roller coasters.

Nothing was more traumatic than when I was 16 years old and me and my girlfriend at the time went to Six Flags and I screamed my ass off like a little girl.

I would like to overcome the fear, but I just think it's so unfair that as a man you have to do all these things to prove that you are fkn masculine, and your girl/s.o. will look down on you for not chickening out. It sucks to be a man & i hate this world

Just tell people you dont like rollercoasters. You dont have to explain shit. I dont like them either. I never do rollercoasters never have.

just remember that if the people in your life really respected you they would be courteous of your fear for roller coasters. As i am sure that you would respect their fears if they had any

I don't know how people do rollercoasters, the Waltzers are the most daring ride I'll go on, and even they're scary.

Being male has nothing to do with it. For anyone to expect you to be brave because you're male is really sexist to women, they're basically saying that women are pussies. There's no reason why women shouldn't be equally as brave as men.

    So what? Lots of things have been around for thousands of years, it doesn't mean they're good. You don't need to be a beta male to be afraid of rollercoasters, they're serious shit. Besides, I'm not saying that men need to be pussies, just that women can be equally as brave. You can still be an "alpha male" if you want, but there could also be alpha women. A real man wouldn't feel intimidated, or feel any less of a man, because of a strong woman.

      The world has just been falling apart since we started this strong women bs. You are living in a fairy tale. And that fairy tale is gonna destroy the us. Birth rates are not sustainable because women are supposed to be strong and brave and work, and just look at europe. In 100 years sweden is muslim majority. Then you think women will be allowed to be brave? They will be in head scarfs and forced into arranged marriages

        Well ancient times were a lot harder than today, so I think a division of the sexes was required back then alright. Men are stronger than women, and so they couldn't afford to allow women to farm or fight, because it would mean less productivity/victories. Plus in hindsight, in order to reach the large population needed to enable industrialisation, women would've needed to have lots of children, meaning they would've needed to stay home to raise them. But times are much easier now, and so we can afford to allow women to have these careers, and to prove themselves as equally brave and mentally strong as men.
        
        The world hasn't been falling apart, if you compare it to the centuries before that we're living in a utopia. It's been taking a downturn lately alright, like in the last few decades compared to the early-mid 20th century, because the price of living has gone up. But that's to do with corporations becoming greedy and government corruption/incompetence, not because of feminism.
        
        I do worry about the rise of Islam alright, how their population is rising while christians'/atheists' are evening out or falling. I think extremist religious views can be solved through education though, although not enough is being done to combat it at the moment.

        The problem is with women focusing on careers you have a unsustainable birth rate. Meaning we have to replace our population with foreigners to survive. And when we replace ourselves the ppl who replace us will not share the same values as us and the country is no longer the same country. And usually a group that has high birthrates will be the ones to replace the low birth population and they are not going to be liberal (if they were they wouldnt have high birthrates) and then the country is no longer liberal. Liberalism fixes itself but it replaces the population. Its unsustainable.
        
        After ww2 the usa was 91% white. Its now 64% white.

I had an irrational fear of insects (entomophobia) and used to freak out over bugs even as a grown man
My family gave me so much shit for it so I get where you’re coming from.
You have two choices;
-Face the fear and conquer it
-Self acceptance

It's normal, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it! Being a man is not about acting macho and having no fears. It is understandable to fear rollercoasters, as they involve heights and speed, both of which many people are afraid of and for good reason.

Dude don't worry about your masculinity. It's fine. Fear of rollercoasters probably has all to do with hardwiring in your brain. Who knows, 10,000 years ago the same wiring probably would have made you the best hunter in the pack lol.

This probably won't mean much because I'm a woman, but I cannot *STAND* heights. I always feel like I'm going to tip forward. So I get the fear. Keep me, far, far away from the edge thank you!

I'm a roller coaster enthusiast, been skydiving, and my job routinely requires me to be 20 feet up on a thin catwalk with no rail supports. The "mainliest" dudes I've been with through tanker school just noped out of doing the job because of said heights.

Being afraid of heights is completely rational. If I fall off best I can hope for is a sprained or broken ankle.

As a woman I'd think it's embarrassing for an adult to be scared of roller coasters regardless of your gender. Disliking roller coasters (vertigo, motion sickness etc) is completely normal but active fear is IMO a dumb thing to be scared of. Like still being afraid of the dark.
