Is it normal to be against child abuse but not report it
I don't feel it's my place or my business to get the cops involved. I guess my feeling is that if you're born with bad parents, you're fucked.

All police agencies will let you report anonymously, including the FBI, NSA and CIA, not to mention local police and sheriff's. Just do it.
Doing nothing is the same as saying it’s ok. As adults we should protect children whether it’s our own or not. Your lack of action is cowardly. When a good person suffers all who would call themselves good must suffer with them.
Children don get to choose what kind of family they are born into. Maybe they can’t change the “I’m fucked” situation, but you can, and you’re choosing not to
just do it anonymously, they're not gonna force you to be a part of the investigation at all past that one tip. source: my idiot friend calling child protective services on my dad and her never having to deal with it.
I understand that you don't want to get involved, but maybe you could report child abuse to the authorities anonymously? It's a good thing that most people don't think like you do!
You shouldn’t be asking if it’s normal, you should be asking if it’s possible. And the answer is no. If you don’t report it, then you’re not against it.
What kind of child abuse are we talking here? Some people think spanking is child abuse.
We aren't talking about some friend of yours who let you down when you needed them, dude. We are talking about child abuse, you moron. We all have a moral responsibility to protect them, unless you are some sociopath.
I've had a lot of people just randomly help me, like strangers have helped me on the roadside.
