Is it normal to be aggressively helpful and how do you deal with it?

There is a coworker at work who is agressivley helpful. As in if you say please stop or I don't need help they say "too bad I'm helping anyways". They complain about everything other people are doing saying "why you doing that, do it this way, don't worry about it". It's especially annoying to me because I have several things I'm doing at the same time and I have no time to explain everything. They also have a super lax attitude like "we all need to go slow" which realistically doesn't work for the type of job we are doing. When we have to do something urgent they play the 20 questions game. You can be like "move a car coming" and they say "but why"? Even if it comes directly from our boss himself he still has to sit and ask 20 questions all the time. They also will sit and complain at everyone work and nag instead of auctually doing thier job. Like I had to tell them several times "please stop talking and do your job and stop worrying about everyone"! I am not sure how to address this behavior. It's like trying to train a fucking cat!

Sounds more like that person is incredibly controlling, wants to do everything themself and then labels that as being helpful to make it sound better.

Just make it explicitly clear to them that you don’t need help and then ignore them and get all your other coworkers to do the same. They’ll soon understand that their behaviour isn’t appreciated.

    • What do you mean? You are saying I should give them more work to do? It's interfering with work flow though.

Just refuse to acknowledge them and do your job. Keep your head down and get the job done. If they ask a question a simple IDK and continue with your work.
