I understand that anti-feminizm is a response to a new wave of feminists that don't really believe in equality between the genders and can be extremist in their ideologies. However, something which anti-feminists often ignore is that these types of people represent a minority of the larger feminist population and branding all feminists as having the same ideals is simply incorrect.
If it's equal rights you're looking for, try the term "Egalitarian"! Some people who are against third wave feminism but are still for equal rights use this term to describe themselves.
What about certain issues that are specifically in regards to women though? like it’s technically equal for both men and women to not be allowed to get abortions, so wouldn’t advocating for that require feminism? Idk
I personally thought the term Egalitarian meant 'equal rights on both sides where they each need it'. An example of this would be both supporting equal rights for women to be pro-life, but also advocating equal rights for men, to be recognized when they're on the receiving end of domestic abuse and/or sexual harassment instead of being ignored or shrugged off. It's kind of like a label advocating for equal rights on both sides, while openly rejecting the label of feminist (but not exactly rejecting ALL of its ideas). Sorry if this explanation was kind of complicated, but I hope I helped you understand better what I meant.
I don't know if this clears things up, but one of the reasons many feminists use the term "feminism" is because most of the root causes of problems that both men and women face come from the fact that civilization used to be overwhelmingly patriarchal. Things that were masculine were seen as superior to anything feminine.
For example, men commit suicide more often than women because asking for help is seen as feminine and it makes them weak. You see this in our culture all the time. We tell people that they're being a "sissy" if they're not strong or tell people that they're "fighting like a girl". At the end of the day, we as a society need to remove the idea that feminine is less, that people who are masculine can't exhibit feminine traits without being weak, and perhaps abolish the ideology that asking for help and communicating is feminine at all.
I personally see myself as a feminist, but most of my work in gender-based activism has been awareness about how men face mental health issues and sexual abuse. It annoys me that most people approach me and assume I don't work with men at all.
fighting like a girl means you're fighting weak because men are biologically stronger, and are required to be stronger than women
Sometimes. Have you ever seen a situation where someone, for example, is playing pool badly and someone else comments that they "play like a girl"? Pool has nothing to do with physical strength or biology. Also, just because a group of people can't do something as well doesn't mean that they're bad at it. Feminine additionally does not equal lesser because all forms of strength are not physical.
I concede, however. Does my point not still stand with that point aside?
Just to add to this, why in the fuck are all feminazi's fucking gross.
I mean i'm yet to find a feminist that i can honestly say is attractive.
Perhaps its the constant bitching that puts me off.. reminds me of my second wife.
equality and feminism are drastically different things. Stand up for what you believe in
As a woman myself I don't think we need feminism at all. We literally have every right a man does. We won't ever be biologically equal, and predjudice will always exist, but modern feminism is getting nowhere.
we dont need feminism in western culture, Feminism in its definition is throwing shit at the patriarchy/male figure and blaming them for their problems, thats why its not called equalitarianism
Yes dude, they're crazy af. The saddest thing is they're just shitting on men whilst claiming "it's just about equality"
It is normal, as most defined 'feminists' are those who are insanely immature. For example, the stereotypical-dyed-hair feminists who assume every male is absolute scum. Hating those types of feminists is normal.
I'm anti feminazi but regular feminists on the other I'm ok with because I can understand that there might be some problems that need to be addressed/dealt with.
You have a functioning brain it shouldn't be that hard to figure it out. And I don't mean that to be insulting.
Simple it would take me to long to explain it having to point out what regular feminists are about in contrast to the feminazis. Also I doubt I be able to change your mind or give you the full prospective of it. I'm not a teacher so I don't think I could give a proper view point on it. All I can say is that feminazis are annoying assholes who most people merge with feminism which have real grievances.
Unequal representation for women. Men being pressured by society to only show the emotions anger and lust. Actually most of the big stuff for women has been taken care of already well in America. The unequal pay is no longer in effect in most areas. The average is different because men have been expected to be bread winners up till now and are generally more ambitious or I guess chronically competitive bc testosterone.
"up till now"
we still are. we still make the money for our families when we have a wife and kids (i dont have any kids or a wife yet), and the mothers take care of the kids because they have the breast milk, and women have brains more adapted to parenting.
You are aware that economically both parents have to work this isn't 1950s America anymore. It's only getting worse and if one parent isn't pulling their weight then things won't be good.
That's an archaic way of thinking. 40% of women are breadwinners or the sole family provider, which has nearly quadrupled since 1960 and is on an upward trend (especially since more women are attending university than ever before). This isn't even including women who are making an equivalent amount to their husbands.
I've never even met a man who didn't want their significant other to work, either. I have met boys (not men) who don't want a woman to make as much as them because it hurts their ego, but they're sparse too. Things are just changing. The economy is different. Both parents need to contribute.
I also propose a life-changing idea; both parents can contribute to parenting.

i wasnt saying anything like that at all. i was saying men are breadwinners, most of the time. because if you have a baby, the mom is pregnant, not the dad. the mom can still work, but it is harder. then when the baby is born, the mom has to breastfeed, change diapers, etc, while the man is working to get money.
well i mean it would be just because they start riots against men all the time so it would be an anti anti protest XD
Unless they are burning or destroying stuff it isn't a riot. You can counter protest of you want but I don't think that will stop them from protesting.
they call them womens marches, but what they really are are anti mens marches
While I strongly disagree with you, it is sadly very normal as feminism gets a very bad rep
Depends on which feminists you're anti to. Like, if ur against voting and shit that's weird, but if you're against the crazy third wave man-spreading shit that's calm
It’s normal but it’s a very harmful view. You should research what the term “feminist” actually means. The amount of people who aren’t feminists makes me disappointed in today’s society :(
I’m not trying to be mean but that whole look up the definition defense is like someone defending communism by telling people to look up the definition and philosophy around it. They both look better on paper
Feminism just means promoting equality. The term pertaining to females can be a bit misleading. People that hate men are misanthropists not feminists.
I think feminism for the most part is quite extremist now, like people who are feminists are feminists to complain about something that isnt exactly bad, there are some things that should be improved but it has mostly outlived its welcome in my eyes (feminism was important in the past and it has achieved great things, but that time has ended)
i believe that women and men are equal , but i believe that a very vocal minority of feminists believe that men are complete trash . so i often classify myself as anti-feminist even though i still believe in equal rights :)
I was gonna vote normal, but that would imply I’m an anti feminist apparently, so I’m withholding my vote :/
antifeminist is a strong word. maybe antimisandrist is what you're thinking about
