Is it normal to be atheist?

So... I live in a Muslim country and I'm atheist. And in The Qoran,in one part it says there is no compulsion in religion, but in another part it says if u change ur religion or not have faith,u'll burn in hell.
And also for obvious reasons in my country it's punishable by...DEATH,and I really don't like dying.Dying sux.
So,IIN?And what do u think I should do?

I think it's no less normal to be an atheist than it is to be a person of faith. It's also completely normal to have your own, thoughts, opinions and convictions. I don't think it's normal to kill or imprison people based solely on whether or not they believe in the same religion or philosophy as everyone else. I hope you can get out and enjoy freedom!

It was a joke, hence the "haha". Unnecessary yes, but just a joke no harm intended.

don't tell anybody. its completely normal. i can't possibly relate to the extremity of your situation, but going to school in the bible belt, everyone here believes in god and i mean EVERYONE. and as soon as its brought up if your an atheist, you will have your arm twisted into trying to accept jesus into your heart. seriously kids here begin reciting psalms in the middle of eating as a competition. keep it a secret stay with your family. and basically ride it out til a better situation develops. and i bet others think just like you and are trying to "be in the norm" as well.

Either you must leave or become a part of the norm. There is no way to safely have your cake and it too, here.
What you believe can cost you a horrible death.
You have YOUR life to live and even if you do it far from your family, it can be a rewarding and wonderful life.

Take them with you. If they don't want to go then you don't really need them anyway.

Lol @ people saying leave like it's just that simple...do you know how hard it is to get residency in other countries? Especially western countries...

The 'Qur'an' (not Qoran) is part of the law in most 'Muslim' populated countries. Although Muslims are in every country, I'll assume you are speaking about the Middle East?

Atheism is not accepted in the Middle East as something you can publicly speak of. Basically if you do not praise Allah (I think he may be a pig or goat) then you are likely in very dangerous territory.

I would not bring up a family in such an area. Best to leave before you fall in love with a girl who is owned by her Muslim father ;)

It's normal, just not where you live. In your country, does the government monitor your Internet usage? If so, you're screwed! You flee from your country, for both your religion and ISIS. I'm sure that you'll be granted asylum somewhere. Good luck.
