Is it normal to be bothered more by animal deaths than human deaths?

Using the Internet a lot, I'm bound to see some messed up stuff. I've seen a lot of death on various sites, and of course I think they're tragedies. If ever I see a person die, or a person about to die, I'll probably stop watching. I'll obviously be displeased, but I'll move on. The thing is, if ever I see an animal (more specifically cats, dogs, pets in general) die, I'm extremely bothered by it. About a month ago, I saw a short video of a man pushing a small dog towards a hungry snake. To be expected, the snake lunges at the dog and kills it. I think about this a lot, and become distressed. When I see people die, I'm not nearly as distressed, if I'm even distressed at all. Is this normal?

  • It's because animals are more innocent than humans and have honest motives.

Not normal ppl are more important than animals. And I say that as a animal lover and vegan.
