Is it normal to be convinced that government incompetency is intentional
A few months ago I suspected I might have COVID so I went online to see where I could get tested. There were three separate government-run locations advertised on government sites for COVID testing. Each was advertised as being open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day of the week. Since I'm a cheap ass, I decided to go to one of those places because the cost was going to be subsidized. Every single location was not only closed, but not even PHYSICALLY PRESENT. I showed up to the addresses only to be greeted by an empty parking lot
And this isn't only in relation to COVID-related things; think of the DMV, trying to collect unemployment when you're between jobs, even paying a fucking traffic violation is a mind-bendingly convoluted fresh hell where nothing goes as expected and you're laughably stupid if you think it'll take you less than 3 tries to finally get the task done. You can essentially take any basic function that anyone with a below-average IQ and who's only partially paying attention is able to complete competently and it's practically a guarantee that if anyone who works in government were to take control, they'd find 901 ways to fuck it up beyond all human explanation
The only thing that makes sense to me is that the government intentionally does a shit job with everything they do in order to keep expectations low and citizens feeling just defeated/disenfranchised enough to not bother expecting the government to do a single goddamn thing without fucking it all up
