Is it normal to be depressed after being amputated.

recently my dad had a leg amputated and has been depressed for over 2 weeks, is it normal to be depressed after an amputation.

    The exact same thing happened to my Dad. Be extra kind and attentive and make sure he knows that you guys care. Other than that you just have to wait it out.

    Yes, it's normal. Losing a limb is a big deal. All you can do is be patient and be there for him.

    My best wishes to your dad and you and your family. My step-father's father had one leg amputated and he got very depressed. I think most people would feel this way. He's lucky to have a concerned son.
