Is it normal to be hated by teachers because they don't understand you?

I often tell the teachers things they do not know, too example my artist teacher about phi and the golden ratio and the math behind everything or in history to explain all the causalities which created scientific theories... or in physics when you begin to explain something in nuclear physics with quantum mechanics?
Is it normal to be nearly as good in english writing as a common native english/american/australian person (I'm german^^)...

And in the end: Is it normal that teachers don't give a fuck about anyones potentials?

Perhaps they think you're trying to show off an undermine their authority.

  • I was hated by so many of my teachers, and I think most of the time it was that they didn't understand me, and it's nothing unexpected, people don't know you if you haven't shown them "you".

I will always remember my I.T teacher's comment, though. I was at a time where I started becoming who I am now, and I just shut off from everything not seeing the point (not depression, just realization), and she looked at me when I was just aimlessly looking out the window on a sunny day and she said "You and I both know you've got something special to offer, I know you're going to become something more than the rest here, but I also know you've got the secret that makes you question the point of it all".

She blew my mind. She was the only one that knew I had the capability to do things, but at the same time knew that the secret of how pointless it all was is what keeps that from happening.

      hahahaha

That's something teachers usually say to manipulate their trouble students. They appeal to the student's ego as a tactic to get them involved. They actually learn to do this when they're still in uni getting their degree in education.

Good to know it works. :)

It worked until you blew teach's cover! Lol. That's so deceptive and now that I think about it a teacher had tried that on me, assuming I didn't talk to my classmates because I thought they were too boring for me...somewhat close but not exactly right. But i've also had a teacher try to undermine my ego, so I don't know exactly what they had going on at that school. They also had a short, muscular black man who liked to spank little girls.

Same story here. Just be yourself and don't let them change or manipulate you. - Me, A Woman of Few Words

people will misunderstand you all your life. whatever you do don't worry about it, because it isn't about them knowing you. (if it hurts ever, think of people who do understand/appreciate you, and have faith that more will).

but if you truly have a passion for something, follow it and don't let yourself get distracted. you will get to a point where people will respect you if you follow this.

also don't focus on the teachers faults, though they may be great. there is nothing you can do to "fix" them.

just give a fuck about your own potential, and fucking take it into your own hands to get there

if it helps calm you down... laugh a little at peoples silliness. But don't let them know you're laughing. Be diplomatic and kind, always. And maybe someday you can be the kind of person you wish they were

I've made mistakes like this before. True, they should get their facts straight before teaching kids faulty knowledge, but by you calling them out on this, you have inadvertently made an enemy out of the teacher. You have embarrassed the teacher and probably have even hurt their pride. What you intended as a form of helpfulness, they have interpreted as a form of impudence. There is not much that I know of that can be used to help against teacher's like this. You could however, perhaps, send an anonymous letter of complaint.

When I was younger, even if I didn't correct the teacher, there were some people that no matter what I did, they always seemed to have something against me. I think that in a situation like that, it would be best to try to blend in with the environment and do your best not to get on that person's bad side. Or, you could do what I did as a kid, which was to sometimes tell this person's behavior on to my mother. Most parents will probably end up taking this up with the teacher or whoever is the boss.

Some professors are more into research than teaching. And some teachers have given up on students because most don't care. When the rare one comes along that does care, they might think that you are trying to show off if the things you are telling them are new to them. They may also consider the information you're giving them as irrelevant to their teaching, because they are used to following a schedule.

Just keep doing what you do and one day you'll find that rare teacher or professor who can see your potential and will help cultivate it.

Yeah im just in high school, they dont research^^
But yeah I think you are right...
The "education" system here is also such a wreck^^ Most teachers dont do their job because they want to educate the people of tomorrow...
