Is it normal to be in a "limbo" after graduating college?

Basically sitting with a degree but too scared to apply for jobs. Or still not sure in what direction to go. Or whatever. Been like this for a year now.

College doesnt really prepare you for the real world. You have to start over now.

I went to post secondary right out of high school and graduated pretty young so instead of working right after I just traveled and did nothing. Nothing wrong with taking some time off. You should probably get out there soon since its been a year

I was in the same boat and it's hard because once you start looking for a job everyone is going to be asking why you were sitting around after graduation, so unless you're continuing your education you should try finding job opportunities. I totally understand that having a ton of free time is awesome but it's probably going to come back to haunt you in the end, at least it did for me. That's something that killed me too, every company wants to see people applying who have experience, so nobody wants to hire people who have never worked before. I'm not going to lie, being able to stay up late every night and wake up late every day and basically just do whatever the heck I want whenever I want is one the greatest pleasures in life. But eventually that lifestyle is going to make you feel empty inside and you're going to want something more. Of course, not to mention that it was putting a tremendous burden on my parents to keep supporting me financially (living at home but still having student loans to pay off with no source of my own income) and I felt guilty after a while, like I felt the responsibility to do my share and carry my weight.

Not limbo, it's hell. You need to get a sense of urgency and start giving your resumes to companies. You don't want to leech off your parents and end up depressed just waking up. The path towards a fulfilling life takes hard work. Go in that direction.

Working is for losers. Sitting around being scared is what cool people do.

Normal I've got friends in that situation. My ex graduated at the top of her class with a business degree and still hasn't done anything with it.
