Is it normal to be in your 30's and have a black and white tv and a vcr?

My only TV is an old 13" black and white TV, I also still have a VCR that I use to watch old movies on. I have never owned a color tv, nor a DVD player. Both of these items were given to me by my parents while I was a teenager and both still work fine, making me think it would be a waste to get rid of them and upgrade. Is this normal?

Do you still have an Atari 2600 hooked up to that TV????

Why-ever not? Telly is over-rated since it is usually shite.

Until very recently I only ever taped things on VHS.

People too often feel the need to have something just because it is new, or fall for all all the adverts/promotion/peer pressure.

    I salute your stance.

The important question is whether you are able to watch porn on that outdated TV. If not, purchase a new one!

Of course I can. I said I have a VCR. I prefer to watch reruns of Saved by the Bell and Small Wonder.

That is good. Grab a magnet and it around with your head close to the screen.

Sorry I was drunk. I meant to say.

What is wrong with that. I own the beautiful combination of a DVD player and a VHS. There a two other DVD players. I think that it is always good to have a back up because soon you wont be to find a DVD player or a VHS combo. It will all be blue ray. And, there's something called "Ultra Violet (UV)".

I don't like old TVs, not black and white, not even the small color ones. You're missing out on HD

I really don't watch tv all that much. When I do it's for brief periods of time and is normally a movie on my VCR or old tape episodes of Saved by the Bell.

People who don't understand technology never upgrade out of fear. Plus it's a trend to have really old items, you just don't have to waste your money to be cool. You are already cool.

Sounds like a true nonconformist. Cool.

  • Your life reminds me of the setting of some creepy thriller movie about a guy who isolates himself from the world and begins to go on a introspective journey into his own mind and begins to slowly go mad.

But I'm not isolated at all. I have a full time job, I spend most of my time outside my job hanging out and socializing with people at a local truckstop. I really don't have that much interest in watching tv.

      • I wasn't being serious at all. I just imagined a fictional scenario with a man who lives alone with a vast collection of VHS tapes that he watches on an old creepy black and white TV.

Gotcha. Yeah, it does seem at times as if I'm in the past watching a little black and white tv. I have quite a few VHS tapes as well.

          • P.S. I have stopped at a few truck stops in the past. Driving from Washington state to Texas. A lot of good sites in the mid west. I really like Wyoming. Probably one of my favorite states in regards to the scenery.

Interesting, I haven't really spent anytime in the Midwest.

That doesn't sound quite normal these days but fuck normal. It sounds to me like you're too busy to watch a lot of TV.

LMFAO!!! What if none of this is real? What if it's all just a dream? What if we don't exist except for in the momentary wet dream of some alien we call God?

TV's are overrated anyways, I have one, but rarely use it (mainly to look DVDs or play some console games) and I wouldn't really miss it. VCR is fine for the sake of nostalgia.

VCR's are Ok. Old videos are practically free, especially ones starring Steve Gutenberg. I watched Cocoon the other day, it was great. Short Circuit was not as good.

Not especially, but he's funny in a goober sort of way. I am a fan of the Goldthwait. Did you know his middle name is Francis?

Bobcat Francis? I did not know that. Did you know he toured with Nirvana? The Gute went to one of their shows and met a nice girl that night. She seemed interested, but he was too shy to ask for her number. He still occasionally gets a slight twinge of regret about that night, but then has a glass of milk to cheer himself up.

I enjoyed Police Academy 2 "Citizens on Patrol" with both actors. Bobcat was hilarious in that movie.
