Is it normal to be repulsed by ugly people?

Your problem sounds silly, but there's something serious hidden beneath it.

To be indifferent or uncomfortable around ugly people is normal. But to be repulsed, enough to post about it on IIN, means you're getting your validation from others. When you get attention from ugly people, you feel that as a huge insult and threat to your self-esteem.

A lot of girls suffer from this, and some never grow out of it. Start finding your validation from yourself instead of others.

Why do I get the feeling that you're not that physically attractive either.

What you find ugly and repulsive, others may find the pinnacle of beauty and/or sexually attractive. You may feel something that com-pulses you to react in a negative or violent manner towards that person. that I think is normal. However, that does not give you the right to act on that feeling. We are not dogs. We can chose our actions despite our compulsions. Chose to be kind, the personal benefits to you are enormous. Also, you can chose to not evaluate every person you meet. That is maturity. In the office I don't respond to the 20 something co-worker when she shows up each morning. Why, because we are not at work to pick each other up. If I go to the bar to hook up i evaluate the people around me. If i run across someone who I evaluate to be ugly, I remain respectful. I may smile if engaged in conversation but i finish it and move on. If that person were injured i would help them because I have those skills. Not because they are beautiful on my scale of beauty.

Ugly people are irritating

You got an underlying psychological problem if people you find ugly make you want to vomit and set them on fire. Try to be a descent human being and hide your disgust and dont act on it.

I think it's relatively normal to want to vomit, but not normal to want to set the person on fire. I guess I'm wondering if someone who makes you feel like this way is harassing you.

The only people I've ever met or seen who I thought were ugly were people who go out of their way to judge other people on a superficial basis, and I'm not just saying this. It's usually really insecure girls who work way too hard to be pretty and don't bother developing actual personalities or interests. If you don't change, you're probably going to have a really unhappy life.
