Is it normal to be scared to hope or feel happy in case it 'tempts fate'?

I'm scared something bad will happen if I relax & let myself feel happy & secure or hope and dream about good stuff...like fate will go 'Hahahaa!'

I feel like I have to keep repeating 'good' thoughts in my head to stop my worries coming true - I can't concentrate on conversations or normal life when I'm doing this all the time though! Wish someone'd tell me I don't have to!

its a form of paranoia, which often comes along with a depression. So it's kinda normal, but not in the good way

I tend to have the same fear. What I have been told to do is to think positive thoughts so that I may attract positive results.
