For math, especially. I'm totally shit at math. I think I'm failing, or barely passing. While all my classmates really WANT to see their marks, when my test gets handed back I just stuff it away without looking at it. Because I already know I did horrible.
I hate maths. It's the subject that you can't just learn in order to do well at it. You actually have to understand it. Then you get the people going: "aah maths is so fun and easy". No. It's not fun. It's not easy. You're high on dingdong juice.
People don't get that some people just can't understand maths. Not because said people are stupid or anything; their brains just don't want to work that way.
I'll tell you, as someone who was a good student, I was nervous to look at my grades in college. I remember when I got my midterm exam from an international relations class returned to me at the end of the lecture and didn't look at the grade until I got back to my dorm room. However, I've never not looked at a grade I've received.
