Is it normal to believe america will soon be a thrid rate country?

In the Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland) universal access to free higher education is a no-brainer.
That's because they know that education is the ultimate investment in the future. Of course, that does result in higher taxes. But free education reduces social inequality and benefits both individuals and society in the long run (more taxable income from more earners).
An educated population equals a strong, stable state, ready for the future. So the investment is well worth it. It's really as simple as that, which is why I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.
WTF are you Americans thinking?
You make your young people go into crippling debt to get an education, just as they are getting started in life. Are you frigging NUTS?
is it normal to believe America will soon be a third rate country?

We know student loans are a problem, and we're working on it (slowly). But don't assume what works for you guys would work for a country as large and diverse as the US. As nobody13 said, we like our freedom, and the level of conformity expected in Nordic countries is something I find disturbing. I think Americans do their best in a more competitive environment, with the government only stepping in occasionally to ensure that competition is fair.

You slimy little Communist shit twinkle-toed cocksucker. You just think you're so much better than us. Well let me tell you something; you're not. No one is better than the Yew Ess, the most free country this planet has ever seen! I might not be able to afford to go to some high-class, fancy college, but I'll tell you what, I have one degree that you PC nancy-boys will never have, and that's a Master's in FREEDOM! USA USA USA!!!

How could it not with all these Mexicans and dark-skinned hoodrats. Send these dumbfucks to college and they still won't learn a thing.

The US needs to have the best Graduate schools in the world, so that they can cherry pick foreign talent for the pharmaceutical, aerospace, and computer industry.

Lose the battle for Graduate schools, and America will quickly become nothing.

Yep. Life is an easy ride when you find the best minds in the world, and let them to all the work. Above all else, your country must "work smart".
