Is it normal to believe the meaning of life is self-made?

What do you guys think the meaning of life is?
I'm an atheist, and I do not think life comes with specific meaning, but we all have the oppurtunity to enjoy our lives and to live them. I believe the meaning of life is self-made, designed by the individual to suit their own life.
I know most of you may think otherwise, so please, leave you comment bellow!

I agree. Nothing has meaning except that which we give it.

I'm an atheist too. I believe that humans are just a highly intelligent (well, at least some of us, lol) species that makes up for it's physical weakness with mental acutity, planning, and speech capabilities. In other words, we aren't here for some "divine" reason. We just exist. That being said, I agree with you. It's what we make it. It may not pre-designed, but we are intelligent beings. Do what you will. I heard about this atheist couple once that when asked if they feel sad that they won't live together in heaven, they responded that if anything it makes them live for the small things and really appreciate the bit of time they have together on this earth. I thought this was a very sweet and healthy way of thinking. Imagine if everyone did this, instead of doing stuff for the "after-life"! I think it would benefit the world greatly. This is a very very normal question.

  • Life has no meaning, only artificial intelligence is truly important on a cosmic scale.

I don't believe in a "meaning of life", I guess the meaning of life is just to be a part of the planet.

I believe that searching for the meaning of life is the meaning of life!

We are meant to search for a meaning so we keep motivated and push forward, cause if we don't have something to look for, then we wont acquire knowledge and keep going.

We think that there is a definite answer cause its wired into us.

Even now, a voice in the back of my head has doubts about this, maybe it just motivation at work!

I'm a christian but I agree. I think life has meaning in a sense, I don't think that we are just floating around, I think certain things happen on purpose. But I don't think God or an ouside force (depending on your beliefs) controls every aspect of our lives. I tend to believe we were given an earth, a mind, and a body we could use; wether it was given by God or if you believe it just happened. But we were given these things and it's our job to do what we can with it. If we do well, then you go to heaven/can be proud of your life. If you fuck it up, then thats your problem and if you're ok with it, then so be it.
