Is it normal to catch legendaries, i never train them (pokemon fans only)

I've been playing Pokemon since it started back in the 90s (well, okay I did skip most of Generation 3) and not once have I ever actually trained a legendary Pokemon.

Legendaries are what everyone wants, those huge, godlike things that almost never lose a battle. They take ages to capture and are overused on Wi-Fi to the point where it's sad if you have to use a legendary just so you can win every single match. Darkrai on PBR is a BITCH, and it's cheap.

But when I catch them, I never train them, I just leave them in the storage system untouched. It's like not taking an expensive toy out of its packaging. Every single legendary I've ever caught through the series are trapped indefinitely within the storage boxes, never to be trained.

I don't see any reason to train them, because I'll never use them in the long run for anything. Plus, they're already powerful - why make them more powerful, and for what? I always train up great non-legendary Pokemon that are good enough for me anyway.

Is this a normal approach to the game?

    Charizard was the best, legendaries are nothing. The only thing that makes them legendary is that they can break free from any pokeball except the master ball. (I stopped playing at gold and silver)

    I haven't played the games in a while. On portable systems, I've only gotten two legendaries but they were from wi-fi. (Shaymin and I think Deoxys). I think I may of gotten some on Pokemon colosseum, but I can't remember and none on Gale of Darkness. On the ones I have gotten, I have used them in the game.

    Forget Pokemon was for the young we know how hard it is to forget but you have to live with what life has to offer its nice to have memeries but you have to forget

    Yeah It's normal. I only train them if they're lik level 70 or something not the ones at like level 30.

    lol! Same here, (i only play gen 1 and 2) there is no point to legendaries, most don't evolve and are like lvl 60+ fully trained by the time u find them... they are just like trophies, the only fun is in catching em and to show off

    I agree that legendaries are overrated. More people need to train regular Pokemon. It would make battles more interesting that way IMHO.
