Is it normal to collect roadkill

I like to collect roadkill, I keep the pelts and bones because I like to draw them and I use the guts in my garden. I even keep the bones I find on my hikes. I've never killed an animal, but I do want to get into taxidermy. I'm a naturalist, these things please me. But when I tell people they get scared of me and tell I'm creepy or a future serial killer. I have No interest in hurting humans btw

  • You’re doing a public service. Just make sure you can legally collect it in your state.

      • Roadkill is managed differently in many states. In Alaska larger game always goes to feed the needy, in some states remains go to museums or for scientific research. In others it’s collected and incinerated. I imagine the Health Dept in some states has purview over it to check for clusters of rabies or other illness that can harm humans.

  • I think it's nice that you're making use of animals that died for no reason.

Bs how people are fine with hunters, but your harmless, and rather efficient, hobby of collecting already dead animals is "creepy".

Maybe you should look into crime scene cleaning or being a mortician.

as long as you don’t do any harm to others you can do what you want, and i think taxidermy would be a great thing for you to try

Well, it is rather a gruesome hobby.

I think it’s different but I would define it as a normal or non-normal thing
