Is it normal to completely change your view on religion based off a book?

I'm not a very religious person (I never go to church) but I believe I'm a very spiritual person. I read a book by C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity, which completely changed my mind of the whole Christian faith. It made me believe in it because it seemed to give more structured and sensical reasons to believe. Like I said I'm not a religious nut but it really got me thinking. Is it normal?

You know whats ironic about this? Most religions have a book which they follow. I have a suspicion you are trying to be ironic. That or you are just an ignorant twit. I am going to give you benefit of the doubt and go with the first one. Its called the bible. You should really look it up some time.

Good - that means you change your opinion when presented with new information/points of view. That's healthy, and should be the norm, but definitely isn't always. :D

I think reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy helped me to come in terms with being part atheist and that if I didn't believe in god, that he wouldn't kill me for doing so. Books are magical things. Yes, I do think what you're saying is perfectly normal:)

    Try reading Vanna White's autobiography.
It has nothing to do with your question, but it is a hell of a book.

Hmm...I'll have to read some Christian books. I do believe in God, but it's an interesting topic & I wouldn't mind reading more about it. And books are persuasive, so it is normal that it changed your views. Persuasion is often what authors strive for.

I am not religious in any kind of way either, far from it, but that book is very well done.
If you liked that one, you may also like " Confessions" by St. Augustine.
