Is it normal to cringe everytime i hear someone bringing up god

The same happens to me. I live in a heavily Christian area and I'm an atheist. My co-workers frequently bring up God and how they think he's the reason for everything, and I just am sick of it. It's like, No Debbie, God did not help you get over your surgery. The doctors did.

It's normal to not believe in God, but it's not normal to cringe when someone mentions it.

If you cringe at someone else's faith it means you are insecure in your own beliefs.

The source of all cringe is self-shame. If you were "spiritually at peace" then there would be no cringe at saying grace or whatever. You'd just be apathetic.

My guess is that if you took the time to understand Christianity and are smart enough not to take the Bible literally, your cringe would go. If you consider the book as a series of philosophical truths told in a form ancient peoples could understand, then you'd probably appreciate it a lot more.

I would argue that it is because of god we have food. I mean food literally grows from the ground we walk on. It seems weird that evolution knew we would need food to grow like that. Everything is too perfect to not be created.

When you've moved on from religion and then you see someone watching Benny Hinn or Joel Osteen or Brian Houston from Hillsong its cringy as fuck. You can see right through the theatrics to the pathetic con artist begging for non-taxable money. And then you see gays and people who cuss and unmarried couples living together with a kid and scat/anal fetishists going to church on sunday and you see right through them too.. hypocrites! They don't know their own Bible nor have they studied it. Your own holy book condemns you! That's why the mega cringe.

It takes an atheist to study and tell you what your book says. You see, I have stopped the pretenses of being a christian long ago. I'm "cold" according to the Bible. But your holy book states that God hates (yes God can hate, if you studied your Bible you'd know that) lukewarm nominal christians who pretend to have a relationship with christ but support gays, and swear, and all the other vices they do based on modern liberal morals instead of the morals clearly stated in the Bible. People were horribly martyred for their christian integrity (believing in points of doctrine no matter what the "world" says; today you're persecuted for being anti-"lgbt"). You nominal christians spit in Christ's face with your false faith, and he'll spit you right back out. (That is, if he exists like your Bible states.)
