Is it normal to cuddle a body pillow like a real person?

I started using it originally bc it's really comfortable when sleeping, but after cuddling it every night I've started to feel like it's almost releasing the same neurotransmitters I'd get when cuddling a s/o (or at least it feels that way subjectively).. is that normal?

I think that's what body pillows are for, isn't it?

Yeah that's their primary use. I dont use a body pillow, it's too long to be comfortable, so I just use a normal pillow.

I have a bunch of pillows! I have an expensive memory foam body pillow, but it's packed away somewhere, and I don't want it to get in my cat's way.

Can't see a problem as long as you also cuddle your partner, I just find it a good way to get to sleep esp with an early start gets me off to sleep quick, obviously if your alone its a good substitute ...nothing nicer on a long weekend cuddling your partner no worries about the alarm.

Most people who don't have someone to snuggle with do this.

As a lonely person who did the same thing for years until I went into therapy, I said it’s not normal. Find out what’s keeping you from connecting with a person to sleep with. Btw,I’ve been married now for 40 years and can’t stand to sleep alone. Good luck.
