Is it normal to cut yourself?
I've been cutting myself for about a year now. But I only cut my stomach, so nobody will see (I wear a one piece swimsuit because I'm fat anyway). I'm an 18 year old girl.

It is definitely not normal to be cutting yourself. You know that it's not normal because otherwise you would not be hiding it from others. Maybe you should consider seeking out some sort of support group for cutting. They have many online support groups for almost every kind of problem there is, that is considering that you want to get help and still remain anonymous. There are also many other options available when you decide you are ready to get help. I hope that you do.
It's actually normal. I think it's something like 1 out of 30 woman cut themselves at least once in their life time. You should try to find another outlet that will be less harmful to you. Maybe get involved more with friends, watch a new TV series, create art, play games, play instruments, etc.
I can't condone any damage to self that almost completely rules out the possibility of wearing a bikini! Saying you're fat doesn't make it okay to cut yourself.
Why, because someone clearly at risk from themselves wants to see if somebody else is in the same situation as them? Even if she was attention-seeking it would be wholly understandable.
You're right...There is no way of knowing if anyone else in the world cuts...It's so unheard of.
It's steeped in attention grabbing, from the fat comment to the "I'm an 18 year old girl". When people bring in irrelevant information about themselves, most of the time it is for attention.
I didn't think it was too hard to grasp that this is just one of many ways of relating to others, but fine, if I have to spell it out. IIN is anonymous, for a start.
I'm getting a pejorative tone from your comments, when in fact everybody on here seeks attention, of sorts.
