Is it normal to date someone with the same name as an estranged family member?

I’ve recently gotten close with a girl I’ll call Emily. I want to ask her out in the next few days but I realized she has the same first name as my estranged half-sister. I haven’t seen my half-sister in over a decade, but I’m wondering if it’s weird to date someone also named Emily. Basically, is it normal to date someone with the same name as an estranged family member?

(I know this is short so IDK if you would need any extra info but if you comment a question I can clarify)

It happens as there are many common names that are used by many.

In my family this issue is the name Paul. So we clarify when talked to our siblings and other relatives: Paul our brother, or Paul Louise's husband in our conversations.

A similar clarification is all you need for a situation like this. Many thousands of people (perhaps millions) do the same kinds of clarifications because of a shared common name.

One thing is for certain. You ARE a homosapian.

And if you are scared to date a girl because she has your sisters name...
