Is it normal to do no shopping on black friday?

I suppose everyone is expected to shop on Black Friday but I don't.

Here are some reasons why.

1. I don't have the time or patience to stand in long waiting lines
2. I am saving money for rainy days
3. I don't like rushing
4. Black Friday catches me unawares every time
5. Even with discounts, certain things are still out of my budget
6. I don't have transport to certain shopping centres
7. I've had bad experiences with online shopping

Sometimes I wish I could spend the whole morning waiting for a shop to open and get something really cool for like half the price, but most times I'm like meh. I'll get what I need when I need it, at my own pace.

I've found that whatever is on sale is usually cheaply made just for the holiday sales so it's never worth it.

Better to buy what you like, when you need it, rather that fight a bunch of crazed nutjobs for junk you don't need.

So would that be the exact same products, just that some are made cheaper and set aside for the sale?

It's like outlet stores. They are made cheaply by different manufacturers. They are worth exactly what they are priced.

Black Friday is just about making you sepnd money you don't have with the illusion that you are making 'profit'. The concept is the child of the capitalist system feeding on human greed.

    May this never reaches here.

Doesn't make a bunch of sense when you can just buy online.

I dont go out to shop on Black Friday. It’s just nuts out there. In fact, I needed something at a sports store and went to get it yesterday so I could avoid going there this weekend.

    Rebel! Anarchist! Commie!

If everyone did what you do, the whole freaking economy would collapse and we'd all be living in cardboard boxes on the street within a year!

I hate myself a little for it, but I do virtually all my non-food shopping online. I've never bought into the whole shopping-as-recreation thing, and I sure as hell would never even think about visiting a bricks and mortar shop during the retailer-manufactured frenzy that is Black Friday.

Having said that, I have spent some money online today. Got a Christmas present for our daughter from Amazon that was reduced from £400 to £300 (after checking to see if that was a real reduction), so quite happy about that.

I get way better than black friday discounts all the time - Shop thrift stores.

There ain't no point in going out that day. shit ain't really that much cheaper anyways. Retailers act like it is but even if they DON'T mark stuff up just so they can mark it back down, the prices are still way too high.

I never got how some people would go shopping because there are like maybe five of some coveted item that is marked down a lot. As there tend to be 1,000's of people packed in the store like sardines, what are the chances of getting whatever piece of shit before it is out of stock.
