Is it normal to dream of tentacles?

I, all joking aside, do not know why the hell I am dreaming this, but recently I walked through a forest near a sea, which I find doesn't make much sense already, when suddenly a gigantic tree with a thousand and a thousand more of slippery tentacles started chasing me for an unknown reason.
And to my horror each time when I awake in terror the mean of my windows is wide open.

      No. I read Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson, Herbert George Wells, Steven King, Sebastian Fitzek, Ursula Poznanzki, Franz Kafka, Thomas Harris and a lot of other authors but I think I haven't read of H.P. Lovecraft yet. I vaguely remember that I once said to myself that I didn't want to read him as I was told lots of his writings are about some sort of cult and I'm not into such things.

        I love Edgar Allan Poe! I also once spent an entire summer reading nothing, but Franz Kafka. I felt hopeless, and like nothing mattered at the end of the summer for a few days.

    Well now that all depends. What are these tentacles doing? Are they attempting to enter any bodily orifices? If so, then that's perfectly normal. Otherwise, dreaming of tentacles just for the sake of it, yeah, that's not normal.

      They approach first, wind around my feet. Then they are sliding inside my mouth and rip out my lungs.
