Is it normal to eat food off floor?

I often will drop food on the floor and when that happens, I usually eat it. Whether being outside or at someone else's house, public place, it just kinda depends on if I wanted to eat it or not. I also don't stop my kids from eating food they dropped.(of course I am not watching them throw a sucker or mashed potatoes in the dirt and eat it) I don't eat other peoples food off the ground. Just mine. And I don't do it all the time. But I do do it and so do my kids. IIN?

As long as you don't eat it off the sidewalk.

I work in a candy store, the new girl is always dropping stuff just so she can eat it ! I don't generally eat stuff off the floor but if you're in your house and the floor isn't disgusting it's no big deal.

That's very unhealthy. If it falls on the ground, forget about it and make some more. If you have a dog, let him eat it. You're teaching your children a bad habit.

I voted yes but only when it comes to an inside floor. If something dropped on a mall floor or sidewalk, definitely wouldn't. Have you forgotten that dog poop is a thing?

You guys seem rather ignorant in my opinion.. your floor or the mall floor, both are dangerous. It is not sanitary nor healthy to do it, I'm sorry but no. Don't teach your children to eat things off the floor, just because one floor has a pile of dog shit and the other does not, it does not make the floor without the dog shit clean. I vote no, it is not normal, nor is it safe.

Don't call me ignorant just because I'm not a germaphobe. You know what else isn't sanitary? Your plates. Your cutting boards. Your doorknobs. Your cellphone. I really doubt you wash and sanitize your hands before grabbing a cookie that someone offers you, even if you just opened a door and checked a couple texts. You seem ignorant, thinking things are safe to eat off of just because they're not a floor. Of course people aren't going to intentionally put food on the floor and leave it there just to eat it. I'm assuming OP means if a cracker drops, not a piece of fruit or something with stickiness to it. I don't know about you but my floors get washed every three days, and no shoes are worn past the front door, and I certainly don't have thousands of people walking around my home. You need to relax, in my humble opinion. There's a reason autoimmune diseases are on the upswing.
