Is it normal to enjoy learning new words?

Today I was reading a thread on is it normal and ran into a word I had heard, but didn't know it's meaning; Palliative. So I looked it up and now I know a new word. Is it normal to wish to be challenged and enjoy learning new things?
Thank you, handsignals.

This tale belongs within a category of gratuitous inanity, a characterization more appropriate than what could be made for others that I have encountered in excess of a fortnight.

You're like me mate. I've sat down with a dictionary before, seeing words I didn't know existed, and definitions that really got me thinking.
But most of all it was to confuse the fuck out of people sometimes :)
